In the last months some relatives-and-not had passed away. So it was good, last December, to have this “Memorie” – a diary of my grandma Angela– printed in 100 copies. According to the wish/interest of my mum Anna (the only daughter still alive), we were kept busy in the last two years, with the transcription of the text featuring the Great War in Staranzano (North-East of Italy) and the profuganza to Intra (Verbania) in 1915-16. The nephew Alice, for the great-grandmother, put it all through, along with my preface and some photo from the family album. This way, the memories will continue to travel. Some copies will be sent to relatives who emigrated in Brazil in 1923. By the way, they kept the original diary as a precious token from Italy, up to 1960.
